My anniversaries month (significance both personally and professionally)

"There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friend"(John 15.13 NLT ). Happy Resurrection Sunday.

Easter is probably the most important anniversary in the Christian calendar when over 2000 years ago Jesus laid down his life for us that by his resurrection we have the promise of life.

In addition to Easter, I was fortunate enough to celebrate some few other anniversaries this month.

08.04.2016 is a special day forever engraved not only on my wedding ring but in my heart. They day when two became one and by Gods' grace finally betrothed my beloved. It has been 9 years of His goodness and faithfulness albeit some lemons which we have graciously enjoyed lemonade after. Our 9th wedding anniversary.

16.04.2024.First year anniversary since the floods hit Dubai/U.A.E and made us re-think climate change and remote working. In 12 hours our 'desert' country received an equivalent of a one year total rainfall. Fortunately or unfortunately one client refused to cancel his session and i was forced to try make(swim) my way to work with my modest Hyundai Elantra. Made it back home but learnt some invaluable lessons about reliability of different motor vehicle models since i counted some very posh/classy models either floating or stalled cars on my way back home.

12.04.012.Personalized Therapy Clinic. Before my son Jabali the 'Mountain' was born, my clinic was my first child until my beloved hill(wife Beverly) convinced me to let it go and pursue a career away from Nairobi, Kenya.

Either personal or professional significance, anniversaries serve as moments of reflecting on growth, deepen our connections and appreciate people and/or experiences, recommit to goals or relationships, validation of dedication/commitment to goals, strengthening credibility/trust and last but not least, they serve as motivation to continue/move forward.

Looking back at all these anniversaries I am certain that one quality that has defined me the most in my different roles in life over the years is 'Personal/Personalized'. From driving through flooded Dubai roads to attend to one difficult client who had refused to cancel his session which was purely due to personal volition(having been advised to work from home), my beloved/wife who was a client in another life(blog for another day) always reminds me of my unique professional attributes which came across as being more personal than all other therapists she had worked with and naming my clinic(personalized therapy) because for 'Uncle Elijah' therapy had to be personal and specific.

Moving forward am certain that my future goals(either personal or professional), families i will work with, like minded partnerships i pursue, will be done 'my way'/the 'personal/personalized way'.
